DAVID DAHLER went to work for his father at Avionics Specialist when it was founded in 1973. His first job was Inventory Control & Shipping. David worked after school and weekends while he attended The University of Memphis where he earned his Bachelor of Business Management degree in 1982.
In 1983 David was promoted to Sales/Purchasing Manager of ASI and on October 22, 1984 he became a Certified Purchasing Manager. He served as the President of the Purchasing Management Association of Memphis from 1990 - 1991.
In January of 1996 David was promoted to Vice-president and Chief Marketing Officer of ASI where he continues to oversee the purchasing and sales of Avionics Rotables, Expendables, & Test Equipment.
On December 11, 2000 David was honored by the Honorable Governor of Tennessee with Tennessee's highest honor as "Colonel, Aide de camp, Governor's staff". Those who receive this award are recorded by the Secretary of State of Tennessee with those who have been commissioned into the State Guard and Tennessee National Guard. This award is considered equivalent to actual military commissions and the recipient is commissioned as full Colonel.
